This year:

I am on research leave this year and am not teaching.

Previous years:

Fall, 2004:

Ling 305: Historical Linguistics. (An introductory course in historical linguistics)

Ling 413: Approaches to Syntax. (An intermediate/advanced course in syntax and grammatical theory; in 2004 the topic was LFG.)

Spring, 2005:

Ling 200: Introduction to the Scientific Study of Language. (Introductory linguistics)

Ling 425: Australian languages. I designed this course as an introduction to the languages of Australia. The class produced a learner's guide to Bardi as their final project; this has been distributed within the One Arm Point community.

Fall, 2005:

Field methods sequence (ling 407/507 and ling 408/508). The field methods language was Eastern Armenian.

Ling 304 is an introduction to syntax, concentrating on the relationship between 'theory' and 'data'. The class was designed to follow Ling 300.

Spring, 2006:

Ling 408 (the continuation of ling 407, field methods).

Ling 553, seminar on linguistic theory. The topic of this seminar will be "complex verb constructions". It will be based, as usual, around the discussion of primary research of interest to the participants in the seminar. You will be strongly encouraged to make suggestions for reading. The seminar ties in with this year's symposium on "intertheoretical approaches to complex verb constructions".

Fall 2006:

Ling 200: Introduction to the Scientific Study of Language. (Introductory linguistics)
Ling 305: Historical linguistics
Spring 2007

Spring 2007 :

Ling 304: Syntax
